7 interviews, 1 hour long presentation & an analytical test.
After 9 years with the same firm (effectively) and doing the same work, I am now the new, the only and the first, Senior Manager for Site Experience, eBay.
I'm a bit shell shocked. And happy. Also happy. Really happy. Ecstatic.

1. nrgza
I’ve said it already, but well done mate.
2. graybo
Congratulations! [hurries over to eBay to check for Sevitz-style typos]
3. Adrian
Chuckle. You’ll have to wait till I actually start with them. I’ve only just resigned today.
4. Stuart
Holy crap mate! That’s fucking brilliant!
Congratulations!
SEVEN interviews? Bloody hell.
Woo!
5. Carlos
I am really happy for you matey - bit of a dark horse though - I only saw you this morning!!!!!
6. pixeldiva
That’s absolutely fucking brilliant Adrian. Congratulations. You really deserve it.
So, first task is to make eBay accessible, right? ;)
7. matthew
Mucho congratulationes mon ami!
Phew… so now I don’t have to keep it a secret anymore?!
Deadly buzz.
8. annie
Ah… great news. The good stuff in 2006 has already started. :-)
9. Jack
I hope your insidious influence on the site will soon make it possible for me to auction off all my unwanted porn.
10. NKL

Congratulations Adriann, that’s ace. I don’t know what a site experience manager is, but …
17. Ade
Superb! Sounds much more interesting than where you’re working currently, and like a much better role. Well done.
18. Jimbo
Congratulations mate. I bet you’ll miss Newbury.
19. Francesca

20. emchi

21. estee

22. Sara
WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!
23. matthew
Had a conversation with Nikki about this last night, we reckon ‘Senior Manager for Site Experience’ equals Senior Manager in charge of being Adrian Sevitz’.
Which means you must be perfect for the job dude. :-)
24. Joe
Congratulations, what else can I say? Thrilled for you. Hope the salary is commensurate with the title!!
25. razorhead
Well done. eBay needs it: it’s linktacular cramnedness needs it. Bring a little whitespace into our lives.
26. Gordon
Fuck a doodle doo.
Bravo indeed. They’ve hired on smart cookie.
(and see, I didn’t even make a wise crack about the spelling thing…)
27. QE
Just as well, eh Gordon? ‘They’ve hired on smart cookie’?
Congratulations Adrian :-)
28. Gordon
Ohh arse. Ain’t that just typical.
29. Lyle
Congratulations, matey - sounds like it may just be pretty interesting.
Is it still through the scumbag consultancy company? Or employed direct to Ebay?
Hope it all goes well though.
30. Adrian
Direct employment. I will consult no more.
31. LukePDQ
Well done, Mr. Adrian. But I don’t want you snaffling all the eBay bargains because you’ve got inside powers! OTOH, can you stop the clock on items I’m bidding for, if asked nicely ?
32. stroppycow
Congratulations
33. Tol
Out of interest, will you have any contact with the 3rd party firm who manages the eBay on mobile platforms like PDA’s and phoned experience?
Tol
34. Adrian
I don’t know. I’ll have to see when I’m on the job.
35. Lisa
Hey wooooo congrats!
36. Lexy
As I understand it this role is limited to the PC site only and nothing to do with any services provided by 3rd party partners, e.g. eBay Mobile.
Lexy.
37. GrumpyOldMan
Congratulations.
But what does a Senior Manager for Site Experience do?
38. Daisy
Absolutely brilliant news, congratulations!
39. Adrian
I do the site experience. You know, like the experience you have when on the site.
40. Destructor
My experience on the site is that I’m always out-bidded for the thing I want. Can you alter this experience?
41. Adrian
Bid more, and the experience changes.
42. Lori
I really should get my life in order and read your blog more often. Congratulations! Hope it all goes well when you start hug
