7 interviews, 1 hour long presentation & an analytical test.

After 9 years with the same firm (effectively) and doing the same work, I am now the new, the only and the first, Senior Manager for Site Experience, eBay.

Buy it, Sell it, Love it.

I'm a bit shell shocked. And happy. Also happy. Really happy. Ecstatic.

Had a conversation with Nikki about this last night, we reckon ‘Senior Manager for Site Experience’ equals Senior Manager in charge of being Adrian Sevitz’.

Which means you must be perfect for the job dude. :-)

13 Mar, '06 11:38 AM

24. Joe

Congratulations, what else can I say? Thrilled for you. Hope the salary is commensurate with the title!!

13 Mar, '06 11:56 AM

25. razorhead

Well done. eBay needs it: it’s linktacular cramnedness needs it. Bring a little whitespace into our lives.

13 Mar, '06 12:59 PM

26. Gordon

Fuck a doodle doo.

Bravo indeed. They’ve hired on smart cookie.

(and see, I didn’t even make a wise crack about the spelling thing…)

13 Mar, '06 1:31 PM

27. QE

Just as well, eh Gordon? ‘They’ve hired on smart cookie’?

Congratulations Adrian :-)

13 Mar, '06 2:15 PM

28. Gordon

Ohh arse. Ain’t that just typical.

13 Mar, '06 3:35 PM

29. Lyle

Congratulations, matey - sounds like it may just be pretty interesting.

Is it still through the scumbag consultancy company? Or employed direct to Ebay?

Hope it all goes well though.

13 Mar, '06 3:42 PM

30. Adrian

Direct employment. I will consult no more.

13 Mar, '06 9:10 PM

31. LukePDQ

Well done, Mr. Adrian. But I don’t want you snaffling all the eBay bargains because you’ve got inside powers! OTOH, can you stop the clock on items I’m bidding for, if asked nicely ?

14 Mar, '06 8:08 AM

32. stroppycow

Congratulations

14 Mar, '06 12:51 PM

33. Tol

Out of interest, will you have any contact with the 3rd party firm who manages the eBay on mobile platforms like PDA’s and phoned experience?

Tol

14 Mar, '06 1:07 PM

34. Adrian

I don’t know. I’ll have to see when I’m on the job.

14 Mar, '06 3:08 PM

35. Lisa

Hey wooooo congrats!

14 Mar, '06 5:30 PM

36. Lexy

As I understand it this role is limited to the PC site only and nothing to do with any services provided by 3rd party partners, e.g. eBay Mobile.

Lexy.

37. GrumpyOldMan

Congratulations.

But what does a Senior Manager for Site Experience do?

14 Mar, '06 10:20 PM

38. Daisy

Absolutely brilliant news, congratulations!

14 Mar, '06 10:51 PM

39. Adrian

I do the site experience. You know, like the experience you have when on the site.

16 Mar, '06 12:09 PM

40. Destructor

My experience on the site is that I’m always out-bidded for the thing I want. Can you alter this experience?

16 Mar, '06 12:20 PM

41. Adrian

Bid more, and the experience changes.

19 Mar, '06 8:17 PM

42. Lori

I really should get my life in order and read your blog more often. Congratulations! Hope it all goes well when you start hug
